What Is Genioplasty?

Genioplasty or chin augmentation is an accepted cosmetic surgical procedure that is used to implant the chin in order to modify the present facial structure of a patient to enhance the facial appeal. Chin implants are of two types, i.e., surgical and non-surgical chin implants.

1. The Surgical Chin Implant: The surgical chin implant involves the surgical implant by using plastic material into the chin adhering it to the bone. Alloplastic implants are more common to use as a surgical chin implant those made from synthetic material. Chin augmentation with the surgical chin implant is a cosmetic procedure involves a surgical incision, which is made either under the chin or inside the lower lip.
