The method was declared worldwide in 1996 by Dr.Woods; but since he did not give detailed information about the procedure then, it did not gain public acceptance at the time. The method was declared by Dr.Bernstein and Dr. Rassman worldwide as FUE Hair Transplant Method in 2002.
It differs from the FUT method in that no strip in the scalp is produced, namely scalpel and blades are not used to incise the donor site and the follicular units are extracted one by one by special biopsy needles or punches.
In the first years of application, only a limited number of grafts, about 300 to 400 in one session, were produced. Thanks to the developments in the instrumental tools, the number of grafts produced increased up to 2000. This condition enabled both the physicians making transplantation and the patients tend to prefer the FUE Hair Transplant method.
We have stated the difference between the FUE method and the FUT method. The only difference is in the removal of hair grafts from the donor site (2) and the rest of the processes (1,3,4) are the same with FUT method.
